What is Tehuacán?
Tehuacán a city located in Puebla, Mexico, is renowned for its rich natural heritage and is recognized by UNESCO as the hydro mineral center of the Americas. Fed by the ancient water cycle that begins high in the Citlaltépetl volcano, the region’s springs produce mineral-rich waters prized for their purity and natural effervescence. The Balseca family proudly sources their minerals from the spring in Tehuacán, bringing its unique taste and health benefits to everyone who tries it! Tehuacán is also one of the first places for corn to be cultivated in the world, make it a historical town for many reasons.

The Balseca family is also the original owner of 2 of the oldest Mexican soda brands in the US market, being these Tehuacán® (1902) & Manzanita Balseca® (1928). Why 1454?
It is in year when Aztec Emperor Moctezuma I led an invasion of Tehuacán due to delayed tribute payments. During his time there, he drank the region’s mineral-rich water and was reportedly cured of his stomach ailments. That same water continues to be enjoyed in Mexico today, celebrated not just for its refreshing taste, but for its natural health benefits. Since then, this soft and elegant water has graced the pallets of opportunity makers, artists, and party enthusiasts.
